Tournament Information
General
Stroke play tournaments are held weekdays during the summer.
WCWGA members are obligated to use carts.
A tournament is canceled only by order of the greenskeeper or by the Tournament Chair if conditions warrant. If a tournament is canceled, Venmo payments are returned and checks are shredded. To confirm if a tournament is canceled due to bad weather, call the course the morning of the tournament and/or check our Website or Facebook page. Members on the players’ list of canceled tournament will be given tournament played credit.
There is a $5 entry fee for each tournament ($4 for the purchase of golf balls for prizes and $1 donation to the Worcester County Food Bank).
A player may withdraw from a tournament online via the website up to 5 days prior to the tournament. If withdrawing within 5 days of the tournament, call the person in charge of the tournament. No refunds will be given unless request for withdrawal is made at least 5 days prior to the tournament.
Our tournaments uses Golf Software to manage tournaments and track scores. This system helps ensure accurate scoring, easy communication, and smooth experience for all members throughout the season.
ALL Scores MUST BE POSTED within 24 hours of the competition date.
Wait List
Tournaments will be determined on a first come-first served basis.
If a tournament with a maximum number of players allowed is oversubscribed, first in-first out will be used as a wait list for that tournament.
Tournament Entry Information
All entries and payments must adhere to the opening and closing dates of the tournaments or entry will not be accepted. Cash will not be accepted.
Venmo and Website Entry—Preferred Method: Members can register for tournaments on the website during that event’s open period in the registration window. If registering online, Venmo is the preferred payment method. You must remember to send a Venmo payment with the tournament course name and fee to the WCWGA Venmo account (see Venmo Payment Information in the Player’s Guide).
USPS and Check Entry: Mail a check made payable to “WCWGA” for the tournament fee to the tournament chair listed in the Course Representatives section of the Player’s Guide. The postmark must be within the registration window.

Awards
Golf balls are awarded at all tournaments in each division proportionately to the size of the field.
Major tournament winners will be awarded a monetary prize on the day of the tournament.
A sleeve of balls will be awarded to the player from each division who has the most improved second day gross score during the two-day championships.
Ties for first place (low gross, low net) for all events will be resolved using a match of cards per USGA guidelines (i.e., back 9, last 6, last 3, and hole 18). All other ties will be honored and golf balls will be awarded accordingly.
